Trina Koch, B.Sc., R.P.Bio., Senior Biologist

Trina Koch is a registered professional biologist with over fourteen years of experience working as a water science professional. Her client base includes developers, property owners, government agencies, First Nations and those in the mining and forestry sectors. A graduate of the Okanagan University College (now UBCO) Freshwater Science Program, her academic skill set includes aquatic chemistry and biology, limnology, geology, botany, wildlife biology, hydrogeology, mineralogy, hydrology, fisheries and biostatistics. Ms. Koch has acted as the President of the Society for the Protection of Kalamalka Lake and routinely leads or participants in creek restoration initiatives. She continually works towards professional excellence and values every project and client.

With her extensive biological and water science-related background, Ms. Koch has applied her expertise to projects involving project management, environmental impact assessment, environmental mitigation, surface and ground water assessment, creek restoration, environmental permitting and riparian, foreshore and fisheries assessments., While with the B.C. Ministry of Environment (2004-2008) she managed and provided technical input on a three-year hydrogeological study of the North Okanagan. During her time with Western Water, she has managed a two-year water quality and land use study on Coldstream Creek, a three-year project on Vernon and BX Creek and completed numerous land tenure applications, Riparian Area Regulation (RAR) Assessments, Section 11 Change Approvals, Navigable Water Protection Act Applications, municipal permits and DFO Project Review submissions. Most recently, she has assisted many private land owners along Okangan and Kalamalka Lake with obtaining required permits for dock and retaining wall repair.

Trina spends her leisure time exploring forestry trails with her golden retriever, summer and winter camping, paddle boarding, going on long distance biking adventures, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing with her friends and family.
