Jill Bisaro, B.Sc., B.I.T – Junior Biologist

Jill Bisaro is a recent graduate from the University of Northern British Columbia, receiving her B.Sc. degree in Wildlife and Fisheries. She also hold a diploma from Selkirk College in Recreation, Fish and Wildlife. She is based in our Vernon office. Jill has previous experience in environmental education/stewardship, research terrestrial and aquatic sampling, report writing, and data collection. Jill is passionate about conservation, environmental protection, wildlife research and management and has her professional designation as a Biologist is Training (BIT) with the BC College of Applied Biology (CAB).

Jill’s experience with environmental education and stewardship results in strong communication skills. She has been a large part of community outreach and has done extensive environmental education with both tourists and landowners of the Okanagan. Many presentations and other outreach programs she has been a part of have focused around the importance of wetlands and riparian habitats, as well as proper stewardship of resources.

Jill has experience working in both a team and independently in the field. She feels confident performing data collection in remote places and in inclement weather.

Jill’s research experience working for the Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development provides her with an excellent understanding of aquatic resources. Her experience in research shows up in her data analysis, and report writing. She has been involved in projects where the analysis of biostatistics is key, and she brings those skills into her new position with Western Water.
