Bryer Manwell, M.Sc., P.Eng. – Principal

With her environmental engineering background, Ms. Manwell has applied her hydrogeological expertise to projects involving environmental monitoring for community water supply systems and landfill sites, groundwater supply evaluations, mine site water balance evaluation, onsite wastewater system design, aquifer characterization, solute transport analysis, groundwater at risk of containing pathogens (GARP) assessments, and source water protection planning. Facilitating groundwater licencing applications and liaison between regulators and clients further rounds out Ms. Manwell’s core practice areas.

She currently serves as the Vice President of WCOWMA Onsite Wastewater Management of BC, where she promotes implementation of environmentally sound practices within the onsite wastewater sector.

Her previous academic work involved study of surface water – groundwater interactions in the Lower Elbow River, Alberta, and she continues to develop her interest in this topic as applicable to relevant projects. She has recently completed studies of land use and water quality impact within the North Okanagan area of BC. Bryer was part of the core team who completed the groundwater resource assessment for the Okanagan Basin Water Board groundwater study, providing input pertaining to valley bottom water interactions and was a final report co-author for the Phase 2 Water Supply and Demand Project. When she’s not thinking about water, Bryer keeps herself busy enjoying family time with her two sons, playing roller derby, Nordic skiing and practicing yoga.
